Arcade Fire Concert Review

The show was stunning. Chicago Theater is a really awesome venue, old and majestic.  It offers great sound with clean instruments and vocals.

Keep the Car Running was a stellar opener. Other highlights... Haiti and In the Backseat!!  Regine is better in concert than in any recorded song. She really seemed to take frontstage live. The ending run of Tunnels, ATB, Power Out, Rebellion was simply insane.  By the end of Rebellion I thought I was going to have a heart attack.  Tunnels was easily the best song of the night.

In all it was everything one would expect from an Arcade Fire show.  Insane band energy, crowd was having a blast, GREAT setlist.  I think the song flow was perfect.  It was on the shorter side but considering the Arcade Fire are basically a new band, there just aren't that many songs to play.  I was more than satisfied.

Arcade Fire - Neon Bible live in an elevator!

The Arcade Fire show is this Saturday night at the Chicago Theater (Kathy and I are going to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary). To get myself psyched, I've been watching concerts footage on You Tube. Here's my favorite live performance! I'm tempted to bring a magazine so I can play along.

I'm going to the Arcade Fire show!

Balcony20levelI got my tickets to the Arcade Fire show at the Chicago Theater (Section 2L, Row CC). I've been in a bidding war on Stub Hub and won out the auction today. We're sitting third row in the balcony. What makes it even more sweet is the members of my parent team gave Kathy and I some American Express gift checks last night for our anniversary (which happens to be the weekend of the concert). It couldn't be better timing since I'm leaving the next day for our junior high summit in California.

I want to see Arcade Fire in concert

I have been stuck in a musical rut the last few years. I stuck with what I knew (Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay). This last year I have found myself taking some chances and buying CDs or iTunes of unknown bands (to me at least). One of these bands is Arcade Fire. I cannot get enough of their music. I saw them on Saturday Night Live a month ago and they seem like an electric group pf musicians that would be absolutely amazing live in concert. Then I found out that they are indeed playing at the Chicago Theater next month. What a great place to see a show! Unfortunately all 3 shows are sold out. I've been tracking the prices at Stub Hub waiting for 2 tickets to come within my budget. I'm wondering if tickets get cheaper as the show gets closer and the sellers get nervous or do they get more expensive as buyers get more nervous? Anyone have any experience with Stub Hub and want to share? Anyone have tickets they want to share?

This is footage from the end of Arcade Fire set where Win decided to take the show into the crowd.
