"Who can be a Bigger Loser than Marko?" Rules

The 411:
The man AND the woman who lose the most percentage of weight will be declared the winners of the contest. [My personal goal]
Anyone who loses a greater percentage of weight than Marko will take home second place prizes.

The Law:
Contest begins on February 4th and ends on April 25th - 12 weeks. [Could not come at a better time!]
Initial weigh-in February 4th. You need to submit a full body picture (dressed please!) and a picture of your weight on the scale (get those pedicures done). [I was really afraid it was going to be a shirt-off photo]
The continued weights of each contestant will not be disclosed. We will post standings each week on the YS Are you a Bigger Loser than Marko Community page.
Final submission of weight must be on the same scale as initial weigh-in. A full body picture plus scale picture will need to be submitted by 8am on Friday, April 25th. [I will see Marko and Sean Meade two days later here in Chicago! I look forward to celebrating OUR victories together - and eating lots of Chicago deep dish pizza!]

The Peeps:
This community will give you access to updated health and exercise information, support forums, blogs and special articles and features by youth workers who have already lost the weight. We will inspire, encourage, and hopefully guide you to a healthier lifestyle. [I am really impressed - and very thankful - for the length YS is going to, to support the contestants!]

The Bling:
1st place winners (one man and one woman) each get a FREE registration to NYWC 08 of their choice AND their dollars worth in weight loss of YS Resources. (i.e. 100lbs = $100 in YS stuff) [Totally mine!]
2nd place winners (those who lost more than Marko but didn't lose the most overall percentage of weight) receive select YS Resources.

Biggest Loser Plan

I've been doing some research on the ideal weight loss plan. Today was the first day that I felt healthy enough to workout, so I tried the program out. Here is what I'm doing:

  1. Jog .5 - 1.0 miles
  2. 1 set of 12 on 10 different machines (bench, curls, reverse curls, flys, shoulder press, military press, lat pull, delt pull)
  3. Repeat the circuit (jog and machines) 3-5 times
  4. Do the routine every other day.

My diet is still under construction, but here are the basic rules I've developed

  1. 2000-2500 calories a day
  2. 3 - 500 calorie meals, 2 - 250 calorie snacks
  3. Eat protein after workout
  4. Drink water like crazy
  5. Don't eat 3 hours before bed
  6. No fast food - especially fried
  7. No alcohol
  8. When in doubt, eat a Clif bar - those things are surprising delicious
  9. One piece of citrus fruit a day
  10. Diet Coke - I don't care if it causes brain cancer or makes you eat more - I can't give it up.

Why share my program? Why wouldn't I keep it a secret? I want everyone to lose weight. I'll share my tips if you share yours. The difference is who works harder.
